Comparison review
Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 is just a bit better than the iPad Air, with a general score of 74 against 73.9. Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 comes with Android 4.4.2 OS, while iPad Air works with iOS 8.x OS. Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 is a much lighter and just a little thinner tablet than the iPad Air, although both of them were released only a few months apart.
The iPad Air has a processing unit that is very similar to the processor in Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, because although the iPad Air has a lower amount of RAM and an inferior number of cores and they are also slower, it also counts with a 64 bits processor and a better 600 MHz GPU. The Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 counts with a bit sharper screen than Apple iPad Air, because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a slightly better resolution of 2560 x 1600 and a higher display pixels density.
The iPad Air captures just a bit better photos and videos than Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, although it has a much lower 5 mega-pixels resolution back-facing camera and a lower 1920x1080 video resolution. Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 has just a bit bigger memory capacity to install applications and games than iPad Air, because although it has less internal storage capacity, it also counts with an external memory slot that holds a maximum of 64 GB.
The iPad Air counts with a much better battery lifetime than Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, because it has 8820mAh of battery capacity.
Although Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 is a better device, it costs more money than the Apple iPad Air, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Apple iPad Air. If you prefer to save some money, you can buy the Apple iPad Air, giving up a couple features, but you will get the most with your budget.
