The iPad Air is slightly better than the Galaxy Tab S 10.5, having a global score of 77.9 against 74.3. Even being the best tablet in this comparison review, we must note that it is also a somewhat thicker and a bit heavier tablet. The iPad Air works with iOS 8.x operating system, while Galaxy Tab S 10.5 comes with Android 4.4.2 operating system.
The Galaxy Tab S 10.5 has a little bit better looking screen than Apple iPad Air, because it has a bit larger screen, a just a bit higher number of pixels in each inch of screen and a quite better resolution of 1600 x 2560px. The iPad Air counts with a much better storage to install games and applications than Galaxy Tab S 10.5, because although it has no external memory slot, it also counts with 128 GB internal storage.
The Apple iPad Air counts with just a little better performance than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5, because although it has 6 less and slower CPU cores and 2 GB lesser RAM, it also counts with a 64 bits processor and an additional graphics processor. The iPad Air has a bit longer battery lifetime than Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5, because it has a 12 percent larger battery capacity.
The iPad Air takes clearer videos and photos than Galaxy Tab S 10.5, although it has a much less mega pixels resolution back facing camera and a lower video definition.
Although Apple iPad Air is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Galaxy Tab S 10.5, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Galaxy Tab S 10.5. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy the Apple iPad Air, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the Galaxy Tab S 10.5, giving up some specifications.
