The Asus VivoTab Smart is just a bit better than Sony Tablet P, having a overall score of 58.7 against 55.7. Asus VivoTab Smart works with Windows 8 OS, while Sony Tablet P works with Android 4.0.3 OS. The Asus VivoTab Smart construction is way thinner but extremely heavier than Sony Tablet P. Sony Tablet P has just a bit better looking screen than Asus VivoTab Smart, because although it has a way smaller screen and a lot worse resolution of 480 x 1024 pixels, it also counts with a better display density.
The Asus VivoTab Smart has a quite superior performance than Sony Tablet P, and although they both have 2 cpu cores, the Asus VivoTab Smart also has more RAM memory and an extra graphics co-processor. Asus VivoTab Smart counts with a much bigger storage capacity for applications and games than Sony Tablet P, because although it has no SD memory card expansion slot, it also counts with 60 GB more internal storage capacity.
The Sony Tablet P counts with a way better battery duration than Asus VivoTab Smart. Asus VivoTab Smart captures greater photos and videos than Sony Tablet P, because it has a much higher (Full HD) video definition and a back-facing camera with much more mega-pixels.
Although Asus VivoTab Smart is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Sony Tablet P, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Sony Tablet P. So if you need that extra features, you can buy the Asus VivoTab Smart, otherwise you can save a couple dollars and get the Sony Tablet P, letting go some specs and features.
