Galaxy Tab 8.9 is just a bit better than the Toshiba Encore, having a overall score of 58.1 against 56.2. Galaxy Tab 8.9 is a a little heavier but somewhat thinner tablet device than the Toshiba Encore. The Galaxy Tab 8.9 comes with Android 3.0 operating system, and Toshiba Encore works with Windows 8.1 operating system.
Toshiba Encore has a bit more vivid screen than Galaxy Tab 8.9, because although it has a quite smaller screen, and they both have the same exact 800 x 1280 resolution, the Toshiba Encore also counts with a little bit greater pixel quantity per display inch. The Toshiba Encore features a faster CPU than Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has a greater number of cores.
Toshiba Encore shoots better videos and photos than Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9, because it has a lot more mega pixels camera. Galaxy Tab 8.9 has a lot bigger storage to store more apps and games than Toshiba Encore, because although it has no SD memory card expansion slot, it also counts with 32 GB more internal storage capacity.
The Galaxy Tab 8.9 counts with a much better battery lifetime than Toshiba Encore.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 costs a bit more than Toshiba Encore, but it's still a good choice, as you can get a better tablet for that extra money.
