Apple iPad 3 has a global score of 71.1, which is a lot better than the Toshiba Excite 7.7's 54.2 score. Even being the best tablet in this comparison review, the Apple iPad 3 design is noticeably heavier and somewhat thicker than Toshiba Excite 7.7. The Apple iPad 3 has iOS 6.1 OS, and Toshiba Excite 7.7 has Android 4.0 OS.
The Toshiba Excite 7.7 counts with a little bit better hardware performance than iPad 3, and although they both have the same RAM amount, the Toshiba Excite 7.7 also has a higher number of cores (and they are faster). The iPad 3 features a bit sharper display than Toshiba Excite 7.7, because it has more pixels per inch of screen, a larger display and a lot better resolution of 1536 x 2048px.
