The iPad Air 2 has a score of 79.3, which is a lot better than the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD's global score of 57.6. The iPad Air 2 design is a lot thinner than the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, although it is incredibly heavier and was released 2 years before. The iPad Air 2 comes with iOS 8.x OS, while Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.
IPad Air 2 features a more vivid display than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, because although it has a just a bit worse amount of pixels per display inch, it also counts with a bigger screen and a slightly better resolution of 2048 x 1536px. Apple iPad Air 2 features a much better storage capacity to install applications and games than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, because although it has no slot for external memory cards, it also counts with more internal storage capacity.
The iPad Air 2 features a little faster processor than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, because although it has less cpu cores and a smaller amount of RAM memory, it also counts with a 64-bit processing unit. IPad Air 2 has a way better battery lifetime than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, because it has a 7340mAh battery size against 5100mAh.
Apple iPad Air 2's camera is very similar to the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD one, and although the Apple iPad Air 2 has a tinier diafragm aperture which is not favorable for low light captures and video, they both have a same resolution back camera, the same 30 fps video frame rates and the same (Full HD) video definition.
The iPad Air 2 costs a little more money than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, but it's still a good choice, as you can get a better tablet for that extra money.
