Galaxy Note 8.0 has a general score of 69.2, which is a lot better than the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD's 57.6 overall score. Galaxy Note 8.0 is a just a little bit lighter tablet than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, but both of them have the same thickness. Both devices in this review use Android OS (operating system), but Galaxy Note 8.0 has the previous 4.4.2 version and Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD has Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD features just a bit better display than Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, and although they both have a display with the same size, the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD also has a much higher 1200 x 1920 resolution and a higher display density. Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD counts with just a bit more memory capacity to install applications and games than Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, and although they both have the same 16 GB internal storage capacity, the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD also has a slot for an external memory card that admits a maximum of 128 GB.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 has just a bit better hardware performance than Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, because although it has an inferior number of cores and a smaller amount of RAM, it also counts with a GPU. The Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD features a bit better battery duration than Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, because it has 5100mAh of battery capacity against 4600mAh.

Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD shoots a lot better videos and photos than Galaxy Note 8.0, because it has a back-facing camera with a lot better resolution and a lot better (Full HD) video definition.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 costs a bit more money than the Verizon Ellipsis 8 HD, but it's still a good choice, because you can get a lot more for that extra money.
