Amazon Kindle Fire 2 is a mid-to-low level tablet device released in 2012, with a pretty big 7" touch-screen and a very powerful Dual-Core CPU clocking at 1200 megahertz.
Amazon decided to equip this tablet with an extremely fast 1.2 GHz Dual-Core processing unit, included in the TI OMAP4430 system chip and only 1 GB of RAM memory which is a little bit low for a portable tablet of this level. Graphic intensive applications and games generally consume lots of CPU processing time, so it counts with an additional 304 MHz PowerVR SGX540 GPU to help with that calculations. This tablet counts with an average 5,5 GB internal storage, which could be quite insufficient considering it doesn't come with an external memory slot.
The Amazon Kindle Fire 2 is only for sale in color black. This tablet is a bit heavyweight comparing with today standards, weighting 14.1 ounces. The Amazon Kindle Fire 2 is thin and practical, even though it's not so slim as many other tablets you can find, with a thickness of 0.45". The Amazon Kindle Fire 2 is just 7.44 inches long, but it is still able to fit a a 7 inches display.
Amazon equipped this tablet with a good 7" display, and a resolution of 600 x 1024 , making everything look quite colorful and brightful. This display uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch gestures.

This tablet includes WiFi connection (although it can't provide it to other devices around, acting as a router or modem). This tablet doesn't use a SIM card, because it isn't a GSM portable tablet.
