Comparison review
IPhone 12 is a bit better than Huawei P40, with a general score of 88.7 against 86.4. The iPhone 12 body is thinner and a little lighter than Huawei P40, although both of them were released with only a couple of months difference. IPhone 12 works with iOS 15.x operating system, while Huawei P40 counts with Android 10 operating system.
Apple iPhone 12 features a better performing processor than Huawei P40, because although it has less cores (although they are faster) and 2 GB lesser RAM memory, it also counts with a 64-bits CPU. The iPhone 12 has a better display than Huawei P40, and although they both have a screen of the same size, the iPhone 12 also has a slightly higher resolution of 1170 x 2532 and a just a bit higher pixels number in each inch of display.
The Huawei P40 counts with a superior storage for apps and games than Apple iPhone 12, because it has 64 GB more internal memory. Huawei P40 features a very superior camera than iPhone 12, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture which is not nice for capturing photos or video in low-light situations, and they both have the same video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 video quality, the Huawei P40 also counts with a way better 50 mega-pixels resolution camera in the back.
Huawei P40 features a much longer battery life than iPhone 12, because it has 3800mAh of battery capacity instead of 2815mAh.
Although Apple iPhone 12 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the Huawei P40, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Huawei P40. If you prefer to save some money, you can get Huawei P40, and give up a few specs and features, but you'll get the most out of your budget.
