Even though Huawei Mate 8 is much newer than iPhone 5, it's noticeably heavier and just a bit thicker. The iPhone 5 counts with a brighter display than Huawei Mate 8, although it has a way worse resolution of 1136 x 640px, a really smaller screen and a little bit lower display pixel density.
The Huawei Mate 8 has a superior storage capacity to store more games and applications than iPhone 5, because it has 128 GB internal storage capacity and a SD memory card expansion slot that holds a maximum of 128 GB. The Huawei Mate 8 has a better hardware performance than iPhone 5, because it has more RAM memory and more CPU cores.
