Huawei P20 is a incredibly heavier phone than the Apple iPhone 5s, but they have the same thickness.
Huawei P20 has a processor that's just as good as the processor in iPhone 5s, because although the Huawei P20 has a 32-bit processor against 64-bits and doesn't have a graphics processor, it also counts with more RAM and more CPU cores. The iPhone 5s counts with a bit better looking screen than Huawei P20, although it has a really smaller screen, a bit worse pixels density and a lot worse resolution of 1136 x 640.
The Huawei P20 features a much greater storage to install applications and games than Apple iPhone 5s, because it has 128 GB internal memory. The Huawei P20 has a much better battery duration than Apple iPhone 5s, because it has a 117% more battery capacity. Huawei P20 takes much clearer photographs and videos than iPhone 5s, because it has a lot bigger back-facing camera sensor taking more light and vivid colors, a way better resolution camera in the back, a bigger camera aperture to take better captures in low-light situations and a lot better 3840x2160 video resolution.

If you prefer to save some dollars, you can buy the Apple iPhone 5s, and give up a few features and specs, but you will get the most with your savings.
