The HTC One M9 has a brighter screen than Apple iPhone SE (2020), because it has a much better 1920 x 1080 resolution, a greater pixels density and a little larger screen. The HTC One M9 counts with a camera that is just as good as the camera in iPhone SE (2020), because although the HTC One M9 has lower video frame rates and a tinier aperture which is not favorable for capturing photographs and/or video in low-light environments, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video definition, it also counts with a back camera with a much better resolution and a lot larger camera sensor providing a lot higher image quality.
The HTC One M9 has a really longer battery life than Apple iPhone SE (2020), because it has a 56% larger battery size.
Although Apple iPhone SE (2020) is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the HTC One M9, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as HTC One M9. If you want to save some dollars, you can buy the HTC One M9, letting go a couple features, but you'll get the most with your budget.
