Comparison review
Apple iPhone XS Max has a general score of 84.5, which is better than OnePlus 8's global score of 76. Despite of the fact Apple iPhone XS Max is older and somewhat heavier than the OnePlus 8, it's body is still just a bit thinner. The OnePlus 8 counts with a little more vivid display than iPhone XS Max, because although it has a bit worse resolution of 1080 x 2400px and a just a little lower display pixels density, and they both have a screen of the same size, the OnePlus 8 also counts with way more brightness.
OnePlus 8 has a much greater memory capacity for games and applications than Apple iPhone XS Max, because it has more internal memory. The Apple iPhone XS Max features a bit superior CPU than OnePlus 8, because although it has less RAM and a lower number of cores, it also counts with a 64-bits processor.
The OnePlus 8 features greater battery performance than Apple iPhone XS Max, because it has a 4300mAh battery capacity. The OnePlus 8 shoots much better pictures and videos than iPhone XS Max, and although they both have the same (4K) video quality, the same camera aperture and the same video frame rates, the OnePlus 8 also has a way more megapixels camera and a much bigger back camera sensor providing a way better image quality.
Although Apple iPhone XS Max is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the OnePlus 8, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as OnePlus 8. If you are trying to save some money, you can buy OnePlus 8, and give up a few features and specifications, but you will get the most with your budget.
