Comparison review
IPhone XS Max has an overall score of 84.5, which is a little bit better than the Xperia XZ2's 79.1 general score. IPhone XS Max's construction is just a little heavier but noticeably thinner than the Xperia XZ2, and they were released with only a few months difference. The iPhone XS Max counts with a slightly better screen than Xperia XZ2, because although it has less brightness, it also counts with a just a bit greater screen density, a little bit larger screen and a higher resolution of 1242 x 2688 pixels.
The Xperia XZ2 features much more memory capacity for apps and games than iPhone XS Max, and although they both have the same internal memory capacity, the Xperia XZ2 also has a SD extension slot that supports a maximum of 400 GB. IPhone XS Max features a bit more powerful processing unit than Xperia XZ2, because although it has 2 less and slower cpu cores, and they both have 4 GB of RAM, the iPhone XS Max also counts with a 64 bits CPU.
Sony Xperia XZ2 features a battery life that's very similar to iPhone XS Max's battery performance, although the Sony Xperia XZ2 also has a 0% larger battery size. Xperia XZ2 shoots slightly better photographs and videos than Apple iPhone XS Max, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is not favorable for shooting photos and videos in low-light situations, and they both have the same 60 fps video frame rate and the same (4K) video quality, the Xperia XZ2 also counts with a larger back-facing camera sensor shooting better quality pictures and videos and a much more MP camera in the back.
