Asus ROG Phone 5 is just a bit better than the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, getting an 84.7 score against 82.1. Even though the Asus ROG Phone 5 is much newer than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, it's incredibly thicker and heavier. The Asus ROG Phone 5 features a little better processing power than Galaxy A8 Star, and although they both have 8 cores, the Asus ROG Phone 5 also has a greater amount of RAM.
The Asus ROG Phone 5 features a much better looking display than Galaxy A8 Star, because it has a slightly better resolution of 1080 x 2448 pixels, a quite higher pixel density and a quite larger screen. The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star features a bigger storage capacity for applications and games than Asus ROG Phone 5, because although it has less internal storage capacity, it also counts with a slot for an external memory card that holds up to 400 GB.
The Asus ROG Phone 5 takes much clearer photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a smaller camera aperture which is not recommended for low-light captures and videos, it also counts with a camera in the back with a way higher 64 mega pixels resolution, a lot higher video quality and a much larger camera sensor shooting much better quality videos and photos.
Asus ROG Phone 5 features a really longer battery duration than Galaxy A8 Star, because it has a 6000mAh battery capacity.
