Asus ROG Phone 5s has a general score of 84.9, which is slightly better than the Samsung Galaxy A40's overall score of 79.6. Both devices we are comparing include Android OS, but Asus ROG Phone 5s has newer 12 version while Samsung Galaxy A40 has Android 11 version, providing some nice extra features. The Asus ROG Phone 5s body is way newer, but a lot thicker and incredibly heavier than the Samsung Galaxy A40.

The Asus ROG Phone 5s counts with a really longer battery life than Samsung Galaxy A40, because it has a 6000mAh battery capacity.
