Sony Xperia XZs is just a bit better than the Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1), having a overall score of 77.2 against 73.1. Despite of the fact that Sony Xperia XZs is older than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1), it's design is a little thinner and lighter. The Xperia XZs features a bit faster processor than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1), although it has an inferior number of cores (although they are faster), they both have 4 GB of RAM.

Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1) has a bit better screen than Sony Xperia XZs, because although it has a just a bit worse pixel density, it also counts with a bigger display and a bit higher resolution of 1080 x 2160. Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1) counts with a much bigger memory capacity for games and applications than Sony Xperia XZs, because it has 64 GB internal storage capacity and an external memory slot that admits a maximum of 1,95 TB.

The Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1) features a way better battery life than Xperia XZs, because it has a 72 percent more battery capacity. The Sony Xperia XZs counts with a much better camera than Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1), and although they both have the same video quality, the Sony Xperia XZs also has a larger diafragm aperture for better photography in low-light situations, faster 960 frames per second video frame rates and a back facing camera with much more mega-pixels.

Although Sony Xperia XZs is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1), and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1). So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy the Sony Xperia XZs, otherwise you can save some money and buy the Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1), resigning a couple features and specs.
