The Galaxy A40 has a general score of 79.6, which is a little bit better than the HTC Desire 10 pro's 74.3 global score. Galaxy A40's body has the same thickness than HTC Desire 10 pro, but it is somewhat lighter. Both of these phones work with Android OS, but Galaxy A40 has older 11 version while HTC Desire 10 pro has Android 6.0 Marshmallow version.

The HTC Desire 10 pro has just a little better performance than Galaxy A40. Both of them have a Octa-Core processor and a 4 GB RAM. Samsung Galaxy A40 has a little more vivid screen than HTC Desire 10 pro, because it has a quite larger screen, a bit higher resolution of 1080 x 2340px and a just a little higher pixel density.

The Galaxy A40 counts with a bit better camera than HTC Desire 10 pro, because although it has a smaller back-facing camera sensor which offers a lower photo and video quality and a lesser mega-pixels camera, it also counts with a way larger aperture for better low-light images and video. HTC Desire 10 pro features a much better storage to install applications and games than Galaxy A40, and although they both have exactly the same 64 GB internal memory capacity, the HTC Desire 10 pro also has a SD extension slot that admits a maximum of 1,95 TB.

The Samsung Galaxy A40 features just a little bit longer battery life than HTC Desire 10 pro, because it has 3100mAh of battery capacity.
