The Alcatel OneTouch Idol X has a global score of 59.7, which is slightly better than HTC Desire 400's score of 55.1. Both of these devices include Android operating system, but Alcatel OneTouch Idol X has newer 4.4.2 version and HTC Desire 400 has Android 4.1.1 version, providing you some nice extra features. The Alcatel OneTouch Idol X construction has the same weight than the HTC Desire 400, but it is incredibly thinner.

The Alcatel OneTouch Idol X features a greater performance than HTC Desire 400, because it has an additional graphics co-processor, a higher amount of RAM and a greater number of cores (and faster). The Alcatel OneTouch Idol X has a way better looking display than HTC Desire 400, because it has a lot higher resolution of 1920 x 1080, a larger screen and a much greater amount of pixels per inch of display.

The Alcatel OneTouch Idol X has a little bit more memory capacity for apps and games than HTC Desire 400, because although it has a slot for SD memory cards that holds 32 GB smaller, it also counts with 8 GB internal memory. The Alcatel OneTouch Idol X has just a little better battery life than HTC Desire 400, because it has 2000mAh of battery capacity against 1800mAh.

The HTC Desire 400 shoots just a bit better photographs and videos than Alcatel OneTouch Idol X, although it has a much worse (HD) video resolution and a back facing camera with way less mega pixels.

Despite of being the best phone of the ones in this comparison, the Alcatel OneTouch Idol X is also cheaper than the other phone, making this phone an easy choice.
