Alcatel OneTouch Idol X Review

Alcatel OneTouch Idol X is a little bit outdated phone launched back in 2013, counting with a 1.5 gigahertz Quad-Core CPU, a pretty large 5 inches multi touch screen, and two cameras, a 13.1 MP back facing camera and a 2 megapixels front camera.

This cellphone is extremely thin and good-looking, with a thickness of just 0.27 inches. While this phone is only 5.53" long and 2.66 inches wide, it is still able to fit a a 5 inches screen. This phone is available in 2 different color options, yellow and red. This cellphone feels much lighter than what you would expect from a cellphone this size.

Alcatel packed this phone with an awesome 5-inches display, and a 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) resolution, making everything look absolutely perfect. This display uses IPS LCD capacitive technology, and allows multi-touch gestures.

Alcatel decided to power this phone with a high performance 1.5 gigahertz Quad-Core CPU, bundled in the MediaTek MT6589+ chip with a large 2 GB of RAM memory. Handling graphic rendering, this cellphone also counts with a 384 MHz PowerVR SGX544 GPU. An interesting feature of the Alcatel OneTouch Idol X is its big 8 GB internal storage memory and an SD memory slot, allowing you to install hundreds of games and apps without any problem.

This cellphone has two cameras, a 13.1 MP back-facing camera and a 2 megapixels front facing camera. It is also able to shoot videos in 1920x1080 (Full HD). This cellphone also features flash and auto-focus.

This cellphone counts with a 2000 mAh medium Li-Ion non-removable battery, which is quite poor for a cellphone like this. Alcatel reports a stand by time of 320 hours and a talk time of 20 hs for this phone. A key issue to evaluate is that the Alcatel OneTouch Idol X's battery isn't removable so you won't be able to replace it when it begins to live shorter, making it necessary to replace the whole phone.

This phone includes Wi-Fi capability (but it can't be provided to other devices as a mobile mobile hotspot), HSPA+ (4G) connection type, that is not as fast as LTE-A or LTE networks and 3G fast connection type, using HSDPA, HSUPA and EDGE technologies. This cellphone works with a Micro SIM card to connect to GSM networks.

This phone also includes a handful of cool features as Bluetooth (4.0) and GPS Navigation, and plenty of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer and Compass.

The Alcatel OneTouch Idol X is really expensive considering it is sold for 235 dollars, while many similar phones cost much less than that. It doesn't matter whether you want a device to majorly use social networks or need a device to play tons of games, this phone is a great option .
