Sony Xperia ZR Review

Sony Xperia ZR is a high-end Android cellphone released some years ago, in 2013, with an extremely fast Quad-Core processor running at 1500 MHz, a 4.5" display, a 13.1 mega-pixels back camera and a 0.3 megapixels front side camera.

Sony decided to equip this cellphone using a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 system chip, packing a high performance 1500 MHz Quad-Core processor and a large 2 GB of RAM memory. Graphic rendering generally consume a lot of processor cycles, so it also also has a 400 megahertz Adreno 320 GPU to improve overall performance. A good point of this cellphone is its quite large 8 GB internal storage and a slot for SD memory cards, enough to store a couple hundred games and apps without running out of space.

Sony made the Sony Xperia ZRavailable only in a lot of colors like black, pink, green and white. The Sony Xperia ZR's thickness (0.41") is a little far from current standards, but it still feels quite right in the user's hand. This cellphone is only 5.17" long, but it is still able to fit a a 4.5 inches screen. Sony didn't seem to put much effort to reduce weight in this 4.87 oz cellphone.

Sony packed the Sony Xperia ZR with a great 4.5-inches display, and a 1280 x 720 (HD) resolution, which makes all images and videos look amazing. This display uses TFT capacitive technology, and is multi-touch enabled.

The Sony Xperia ZR provides wifi connection (and it can be shared with other devices around, acting as a mobile hotspot), LTE (4G) great performance data connection and also HSPA+ connectivity, which is a slower 4G network and the fastest 3G connectivity, supported by HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This phone uses a Micro SIM card for GSM services.

The Sony Xperia ZR features two cameras, a 13.1 megapixels back facing camera and a 0.3 mega-pixels front camera. It can also capture videos in Full HD 1920x1080. Additionally, this device's camera also has multiple amazing characteristics like flash, face detection shooting, auto-focus, HDR mode, smile detection shooting and geo tagging.

This phone has an inmense 2300 mAh Li-Polymer replaceable battery, which isn't too much for a device like this. According to Sony, this device has a reported 13 hours talk time and a 520 hs stand by time.

This cellphone also includes some nice characteristics like NFC (to trigger actions, transfer data or make payments by holding your phone close to another NFC device or tag), Bluetooth (4.0) and GPS, and lots of sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.

The Sony Xperia ZR may not be such a good choice considering it costs 149 dollars, while many similar devices are being sold for less than that. No matter whether you will use it for playing games, want it mainly for social networks, will use it as a work cellphone or love photography, this device is probably a great option .
