Sony Xperia ZR Review

Sony Xperia ZR is a fascinating Android phone launched in May 2013, equipped with a high-tech 1500 MHz Quad-Core CPU, a medium 4.5-inches multi-touch screen, and two cameras, a 13.1 mega-pixels back-facing camera and a 0.3 MP front side camera.

This phone only has 5.17" long, but it still manages to hold a 4.5" screen. The Sony Xperia ZR is quite slim, but it's not close to being one of the thinnest phones in the market, with a thickness of 0.41". This cellphone isn't very light for a phone this size, weighting 4.87 oz. The Sony Xperia ZR is offerred in lots of color variations like black, pink, green and white.

This phone is powered by an extremely fast 1.5 gigahertz Quad-Core processing unit, included in a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 system chip with a great 2 GB of RAM memory. Graphic calculations generally eats a lot of processor time, so it has an additional Adreno 320 GPU clocking at 400 MHz to help handle those graphic tasks. This phone counts with an 8 GB interesting internal storage and an SD memory card expansion slot, enough to install hundreds of games and applications without running out of space.

This device has two cameras, a 13.1 megapixels back side camera and a 0.3 MP front-facing camera. It is also able to film videos up to 1920x1080 (Full HD). This camera also features multiple great features like flash, auto-focus, smile detection shooting, face detection shooting, HDR mode and geo tagging.

This cellphone has an awesome 1280 x 720 (HD) 4.5 inches screen, which makes everything look amazing. Its screen uses TFT capacitive technology, and is multi-touch enabled.

The Sony Xperia ZR features a 2300 mAh high capacity Li-Polymer removable battery that can keep this cellphone running for many hours, although you may need to charge it after some heavy use. Sony reports a 13 hs talk time and a 520 hours stand by time for this cellphone.

This phone features wifi capability (and it can be shared with other devices acting as a mobile hotspot), 4G (LTE) great performance data connection and also HSPA+ connectivity, a bit slower 4G variation and the fastest 3G data connection, over HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. This device uses a Micro SIM card for GSM connection.

This cellphone also features a few cool characteristics like NFC, Bluetooth (allows communication with other bluetooth devices, computers, and accessories) and GPS Navigation, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.

This cellphone costs around $ 149, somewhat expensive for a cellphone this level. It doesn't matter whether you will use this cellphone to play tons of games, want it for work, are an amateur photographer or will use it as a social device, you will probably be very satisfied with this device.
