Xperia S features a sharper screen than HTC J, and although they both have a same size screen, the Xperia S also has more pixels per inch in the screen and a higher 1280 x 720 resolution.
The Sony Xperia S counts with a superior camera than HTC J, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is not nice for capturing pictures or video in low-light environments, and they both have the same video frame rates and the same video definition, the Sony Xperia S also counts with a back facing camera with lot more mega-pixels.
