Sony Xperia S Review

Sony Xperia S is an incredible Android device launched back in 2012, which features a 4.3-inches multi-touch capacitive screen, a high speed 1.5 gigahertz Dual-Core CPU, and 2 cameras, a 12.1 MP back-facing camera and a 1.3 megapixels front-facing camera.

This phone ships with a very fast 1.5 GHz Dual-Core processing unit, bundled in the Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 MSM8260 chip with only 1 GB RAM memory which is a little bit low for such a powerful cellphone. Helping with graphic intensive applications, the Sony Xperia S also counts with an Adreno 220 graphic processing unit running at 266 megahertz. The Sony Xperia S counts with a 32 GB big internal storage memory and though it doesn't come with an SD card slot, it is still enough to store lots of apps, games, songs, pictures and videos without thinking about how much storage is left.

It seems like Sony decided not to care so much about the weight in this 5.08 oz phone. This phone is quite slim and looks really nice, whereas it's not close to being one of the thinnest devices nowadays, with a thickness of 0.42 inches. The Sony Xperia S is offerred in two color options, black and white.

This cellphone is equipped with two cameras, a 12.1 megapixels back camera and a 1.3 mega-pixels front-facing camera. It also captures 1920x1080 Full HD videos at 29 fps. Additionally, the camera includes some good features like flash, digital image stabilization, auto-focus and face detection shooting.

Sony packed this cellphone with a high-tech 4.3 inches display, and a 1280 x 720 (HD) resolution, making everything look vivid and colorful. This display uses TFT capacitive technology, and has multi-touch detection.

The Sony Xperia S comes with a 1750 mAh medium capacity Li-Polymer replaceable battery that provides the Sony Xperia S a below average battery lifecompared to other cellphones. According to Sony, this phone has an estimated 7.5 hours talk time and a 450 hours stand by time.

This phone has Wi-Fi connectivity (and it can be shared with other devices around, acting as a mobile hotspot) and 3G fast data connection, using HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS and EDGE technologies. The Sony Xperia S works with a Micro SIM card for GSM carriers.

This cellphone also comes with a couple cool characteristics as NFC (to trigger actions, transfer data or make payments by holding your phone close to another NFC device or tag), Bluetooth (for communication with other phones, computers and accessories) and GPS Navigation, and multiple sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Compass.

This cellphone is probably a bit overpriced considering it is priced 160 dollars, while many similar devices are offerred cheaper than that. If you need a device for gaming, want a cellphone for work, want this device to take plenty of photos or will use this cellphone mostly for social networks and internet browsing, this phone is probably the correct choice .
