The Xperia 1 VI is better than HTC U12 Life, getting an 83.2 score against 74.4. Xperia 1 VI's design is lighter and much thinner than HTC U12 Life. Both devices in this review include Android operating system, but the Xperia 1 VI has the previous 14 version and HTC U12 Life has Android 8.1 Oreo version.
HTC U12 Life features a lot better processing power than Sony Xperia 1 VI, although it has a lower amount of RAM memory, they both have the same number of cores. The Xperia 1 VI counts with a little sharper display than HTC U12 Life, because it has a much better amount of pixels per inch of screen, a way higher resolution of 1644 x 3840 and a larger screen.
Xperia 1 VI features a much better camera than HTC U12 Life, and although they both have the same video definition, the Xperia 1 VI also has a back facing camera with way more mega pixels, a bigger camera aperture for better low light photos and video and higher video frame rate. The Sony Xperia 1 VI has a superior storage for applications and games than HTC U12 Life, because it has more internal storage capacity and a SD memory card expansion slot that supports up to 1 TB.
The Xperia 1 VI counts with a much longer battery duration than HTC U12 Life, because it has 5000mAh of battery capacity instead of 3600mAh.
