The iPhone XS has a global score of 84.2, which is slightly better than the Huawei Mate 20's general score of 79.5. Although iPhone XS and Huawei Mate 20 were released only 1 months apart, iPhone XS is just a bit lighter and just a bit thinner. The iPhone XS counts with a slightly better display than Huawei Mate 20, because although it has a quite smaller screen and much less brightness, it also counts with a quite greater amount of pixels in each inch in the display and a slightly higher resolution of 1125 x 2436 pixels.
The Huawei Mate 20 counts with a way bigger memory capacity for applications and games than Apple iPhone XS, because it has more internal memory. IPhone XS features a little bit better performance than Huawei Mate 20, because although it has an inferior number of slower cores, and they both have 4 GB of RAM memory, the iPhone XS also counts with a 64-bits CPU.
IPhone XS captures a little bit better videos and photos than Huawei Mate 20, because although it has a tinier sensor shooting lower quality videos and photographs, and they both have a camera in the back with a 12 megapixels resolution, a F1.8 diafragm aperture and the same 3840x2160 video definition, the iPhone XS also counts with faster video frame rates.

Although iPhone XS is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Huawei Mate 20, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Huawei Mate 20. If you want to save a few dollars, you can get the Huawei Mate 20, letting go a couple features, but you'll get the most with your budget.
