The Samsung Galaxy A12 has a global score of 80.3, which is just a bit better than Huawei P20's 78.1 global score. The Samsung Galaxy A12 is a notably newer cellphone than Huawei P20, although it's thicker and heavier. Both phones in this review work with Android OS (operating system), but Samsung Galaxy A12 has the older 10 version and Huawei P20 has Android 9.0 Pie.
The Huawei P20 features a better screen than Galaxy A12, because although it has a little smaller display, it also counts with a lot greater pixel number per display inch and a much better 1080 x 2244 resolution. Samsung Galaxy A12 has a very superior memory to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Huawei P20, because although it has only 64 GB internal memory, it also counts with a SD extension slot that allows a maximum of 1 TB.
The Galaxy A12 has a processor that is just as good as the Huawei P20 one, both of them have a Octa-Core processor and 4 GB of RAM memory. Galaxy A12 captures clearer videos and photos than Huawei P20, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not nice for low-light photography, and they both have the same video frame rate and the same video quality, the Galaxy A12 also counts with a camera in the back with lot more MP.
Samsung Galaxy A12 features a much longer battery life than Huawei P20, because it has a 5000mAh battery capacity.
