Comparison review
The Xperia 5 is a bit better than Huawei P20, having an 81 score against 78.1. Even though Xperia 5 is just a little bit thicker than the Huawei P20, it's a bit lighter and newer. The Xperia 5 counts with a little sharper display than Huawei P20, because it has a little more pixels per inch of display, a quite larger screen and a slightly better resolution of 1080 x 2520.
Xperia 5 features a much bigger memory to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Huawei P20, and although they both have equal 128 GB internal memory, the Xperia 5 also has a slot for SD memory cards that admits up to 512 GB. The Sony Xperia 5 counts with a little faster CPU than Huawei P20, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Sony Xperia 5 also has a larger amount of RAM.
The Huawei P20 has just a bit longer battery duration than Xperia 5, because it has a 3400mAh battery capacity instead of 3140mAh. Huawei P20 takes clearer videos and photos than Xperia 5, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture, and they both have the same (4K) video definition, a 12 megapixels back-facing camera and the same 30 fps video frame rate, the Huawei P20 also counts with a larger back camera sensor which provides a better photo and video quality.
Although Xperia 5 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Huawei P20, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Huawei P20. If you are trying to save some money, you can buy the Huawei P20, and give up a few specs and features, but you will get the most with your budget.
