The Huawei P40 is slightly better than the Huawei Mate 9 Pro, with an 86.4 score against 78.7. Both phones we compare here use Android operating system, but the Huawei P40 has an older 10 version while Huawei Mate 9 Pro has Android 8.0 Oreo version. Huawei P40's design is newer than the Huawei Mate 9 Pro's, but it is a little heavier and a bit thicker.
The Huawei P40 counts with just a little better processing power than Huawei Mate 9 Pro. Both of them have a Octa-Core processing unit and 6 GB of RAM memory. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro counts with a slightly better looking display than Huawei P40, because although it has a little smaller screen, it also counts with a higher 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution and a greater screen density.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro's storage capacity to store more games and applications is just as good as Huawei P40's one, they have equal internal storage. The Huawei P40 features a much better camera than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have the same video resolution, the Huawei P40 also has better video frame rate, a lot larger sensor taking more light and vivid colors, a back camera with lot more megapixels and a bigger diafragm aperture to capture better captures and video in low light environments.
The Huawei Mate 9 Pro features just a little better battery life than Huawei P40, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity.
In addition to being the best phone in our comparison, the Huawei P40 is also by far the cheapest one.
