Comparison review
The Huawei P40 is just a bit better than the Galaxy A50, with an 86.4 score against 83.8. The Huawei P40 is a newer cellphone than the Galaxy A50, but it's a bit thicker and just a little bit heavier. Huawei P40 features a slightly better looking display than Samsung Galaxy A50, because although it has a little smaller display, and they both have exactly the same resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, the Huawei P40 also counts with a little more pixels per inch of display.
Huawei P40 features just a bit better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy A50, and although they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the Huawei P40 also has 2 GB more RAM. Galaxy A50 has a very superior storage capacity for applications and games than Huawei P40, and although they both have the same 128 GB internal storage, the Galaxy A50 also has a SD memory slot that supports a maximum of 512 GB.
Samsung Galaxy A50 counts with just a little better battery duration than Huawei P40, because it has a 5% greater battery size. Huawei P40 captures much better videos and photos than Galaxy A50, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not favorable for low-light captures and videos, it also counts with a lot larger back-facing camera sensor providing a much better image quality, a way higher 3840x2160 video quality and a back-facing camera with a much better resolution.
Although Huawei P40 is a better device, it costs more than the Samsung Galaxy A50, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Samsung Galaxy A50. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can buy Samsung Galaxy A50, giving up a few specs and features, but you'll get the most out of your savings.
