Comparison review
The Xperia 1 III has a general score of 93.3, which is a bit better than Huawei P40's 86.4 general score. These phones include Android OS (Operating System), but the Xperia 1 III has 11 version while Huawei P40 has Android 10, so it offers a couple nice extra features. The Xperia 1 III is a newer and a little bit thinner cellphone than Huawei P40, but it is just a little bit heavier.
The Sony Xperia 1 III features a brighter screen than Huawei P40, because it has a much higher display density, a bit larger screen and a way better 1644 x 3840 resolution. The Sony Xperia 1 III counts with a bit superior CPU than Huawei P40, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Sony Xperia 1 III also has 6 GB more RAM memory.
Huawei P40 shoots much better photographs and videos than Sony Xperia 1 III, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not nice for capturing photographs and/or video in low light environments and worse video frame rate, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video quality, the Huawei P40 also counts with a way bigger back camera sensor taking more light and vivid colors and a way better 50 megapixels resolution back facing camera.
Xperia 1 III features much more memory to install games and applications than Huawei P40, because it has a slot for SD memory cards that admits a maximum of 1 TB and 256 GB internal memory capacity. The Xperia 1 III features a bit superior battery performance than Huawei P40, because it has 4500mAh of battery capacity against 3800mAh.
Although Sony Xperia 1 III is a better device, it costs a lot more than Huawei P40, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Huawei P40. If you prefer to save some money, you can buy Huawei P40, giving up a few features and specs, but you'll get the most out of your savings.
