Comparison review

The Sony Xperia 5 II has a general score of 87.2, which is a little bit better than the Huawei P40's overall score of 86.4. Sony Xperia 5 II's design is just a little lighter and a bit thinner than the Huawei P40, even though both were only released with a couple of months difference. The Sony Xperia 5 II has a bit sharper screen than Huawei P40, and although they both have a same size screen, the Sony Xperia 5 II also has a slightly better 1080 x 2520 pixels resolution and a just a little greater pixel density.

Xperia 5 II counts with a much better memory capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Huawei P40, and although they both have equal 128 GB internal memory, the Xperia 5 II also has a SD memory card expansion slot that admits up to 1000 GB. Xperia 5 II has a processor that's very similar to the CPU in Huawei P40, and although the Xperia 5 II has 2 GB more RAM memory, they both have 8 cores.

Xperia 5 II features a bit superior battery life than Huawei P40, because it has a 5 percent greater battery size. The Huawei P40 counts with a superior camera than Xperia 5 II, because although it has a tinier aperture which is worse for taking images and videos in poorly lited situations and lower video frame rates, and they both have the same (4K) video resolution, the Huawei P40 also counts with a back-facing camera with way more mega-pixels and a lot bigger back camera sensor.

Although Xperia 5 II is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Huawei P40, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Huawei P40. If you are trying to save a few dollars, you can get Huawei P40, letting go a couple features and specs, but you will get the most with your savings.
