The LG Velvet has an overall score of 87.1, which is just a bit better than LG G8X ThinQ's 82.7 global score. LG Velvet is a just a little thinner and a bit lighter cellphone than the LG G8X ThinQ, although both of them were released only 7 months apart. The LG G8X ThinQ counts with a little bit better looking display than LG Velvet, because although it has a quite lower 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution and a little smaller screen, it also counts with a quite greater screen pixels density.

LG G8X ThinQ has a bit better processor than LG Velvet. Both have the same number of cores and 6 GB of RAM. LG G8X ThinQ and LG Velvet count with similar storage capacity to store more games and applications, they have a slot for SD memory cards that allows up to 1,95 TB and exactly the same 128 GB internal memory capacity.

LG Velvet features a much better camera than LG G8X ThinQ, because although it has worse 30 fps video frame rate, and they both have a F1.8 aperture and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition, the LG Velvet also counts with a camera in the back with a much better resolution and a lot bigger camera sensor shooting much higher quality photos.

LG Velvet counts with a bit longer battery lifetime than LG G8X ThinQ, because it has a 4300mAh battery capacity instead of 4000mAh.

The LG Velvet is more expensive than the LG G8X ThinQ, but it's still a great deal, as you can get a better phone for that extra money.
