LG Velvet is just a bit better than Galaxy S8, having a overall score of 87.1 against 81.7. The LG Velvet body has the same thickness than the Galaxy S8, but it's heavier. The LG Velvet has just a bit better hardware performance than Galaxy S8, and although they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the LG Velvet also has a larger amount of RAM.

Galaxy S8 counts with a little more vivid display than LG Velvet, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a better quantity of pixels per inch in the display and a better resolution of 1440 x 2960. The LG Velvet features a superior camera than Galaxy S8, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture, and they both have the same video frame rate and the same 3840x2160 video definition, the LG Velvet also counts with a much larger sensor taking way higher quality videos and pictures and a back-facing camera with lot more mega pixels.

LG Velvet counts with a superior storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy S8, because it has an external SD slot that holds a maximum of 1,95 TB and more internal memory capacity. LG Velvet has a much better battery life than Galaxy S8, because it has a 43 percent larger battery size.

Although LG Velvet is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Samsung Galaxy S8, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Samsung Galaxy S8. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy the LG Velvet, but if you don't you can save some money and get the Samsung Galaxy S8, giving up some specs and features.
