Comparison review
The Xperia 1 III has an overall score of 93.3, which is a little bit better than the LG Velvet's 87.1 general score. The Xperia 1 III construction is newer than LG Velvet's, although it is a bit thicker and just a little heavier. The Sony Xperia 1 III features a little better performance than LG Velvet, and although they both have 8 processing cores, the Sony Xperia 1 III also has a higher amount of RAM memory.
Xperia 1 III features a better display than LG Velvet, because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a much better display pixels density and a much better 1644 x 3840 resolution. Sony Xperia 1 III features slightly more memory capacity for apps and games than LG Velvet, because although it has a SD memory card expansion slot that holds 976 GB smaller, it also counts with 256 GB internal memory.
The Sony Xperia 1 III has a bit better battery performance than LG Velvet, because it has a 4500mAh battery capacity. LG Velvet takes a little bit better pictures and videos than Xperia 1 III, because although it has worse video frame rates, a tinier sensor taking less light and washed colors and a tinier aperture which is not so good for shooting pictures or video in low light situations, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the LG Velvet also counts with a back-facing camera with a lot higher 48 megapixels resolution.
Although Sony Xperia 1 III is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the LG Velvet, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as LG Velvet. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy Sony Xperia 1 III, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the LG Velvet, resigning a couple specifications.
