Comparison review
The LG Velvet is just a bit better than the Xiaomi Mi 9, getting an 87.1 score against 83.2. LG Velvet is a newer phone than Xiaomi Mi 9, although it's a little thicker and just a bit heavier. The Xiaomi Mi 9 has a bit sharper display than LG Velvet, because although it has a little bit smaller display and a little lower 1080 x 2340 resolution, it also counts with a quite higher display density.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 counts with just a bit better processing power than LG Velvet. Both of them have the same RAM amount and a Octa-Core CPU. LG Velvet has a lot bigger storage for games and applications than Xiaomi Mi 9, and although they both have exactly the same internal storage capacity, the LG Velvet also has a slot for external memory cards that allows a maximum of 1,95 TB.
Xiaomi Mi 9 features a bit better camera than LG Velvet, and although they both have the same diafragm aperture, a camera with a 48 mega pixels resolution, a 0.5 inches back camera sensor and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the Xiaomi Mi 9 also has higher video frame rates. LG Velvet features longer battery performance than Xiaomi Mi 9, because it has a 30 percent larger battery size.
