Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact is just a bit better than Motorola Edge 40 Neo, with a score of 79 against 77. Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact is a notably older and notably thicker cellphone than Motorola Edge 40 Neo, but Sony made it just a little bit lighter anyway. Both phones in this review work with Android OS (Operating System), but the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact has 8.0 Oreo version and Motorola Edge 40 Neo has Android 13, giving a couple additional features and improved performance.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact features a much powerful processor than Motorola Edge 40 Neo, although it has less RAM, they both have 8 CPU cores. The Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact counts with a little sharper screen than Motorola Edge 40 Neo, because although it has much worse brightness, a really smaller display and a bit worse resolution of 1080 x 2160px, it also counts with a quite better pixel count per inch in the screen.
Motorola Edge 40 Neo shoots much clearer videos and photos than Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact, because although it has slower video frame rates, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the Motorola Edge 40 Neo also counts with a much bigger sensor which provides a lot better image and video quality, a bigger diafragm aperture to capture better low-light images and a lot higher 50 mega-pixels resolution camera.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact has a greater storage capacity for applications and games than Motorola Edge 40 Neo, because although it has less internal memory capacity, it also counts with an external SD slot that allows a maximum of 400 GB. Motorola Edge 40 Neo counts with a much longer battery life than Xperia XZ2 Compact, because it has a 74% greater battery capacity.
