The HTC U Ultra is a bit better than Moto X (2014), with a 77 score against 73.4. HTC U Ultra's body is a lot newer and noticeably thinner, but somewhat heavier than the Moto X (2014). The Motorola Moto X (2014) features a bit sharper display than HTC U Ultra, although it has a just a bit less pixels per inch of screen, a way worse 1920 x 1080 resolution and a quite smaller display.
The Moto X (2014) has a little bit better hardware performance than HTC U Ultra, because although it has a lower amount of RAM, and they both have 4 cores, the Moto X (2014) also counts with a GPU. The HTC U Ultra has a much greater memory for applications and games than Moto X (2014), because it has more internal storage capacity and an external memory card slot that admits up to 1,95 TB.
HTC U Ultra takes a bit better photos and videos than Motorola Moto X (2014), because although it has a camera with less mega-pixels and a worse video resolution, it also counts with a lot larger sensor taking lot better quality videos and pictures and a bigger camera aperture to capture better low light images.
The HTC U Ultra features longer battery lifetime than Motorola Moto X (2014), because it has a 3000mAh battery size.
Although HTC U Ultra is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Motorola Moto X (2014), and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Motorola Moto X (2014). So if you want that extra features and specs, you can buy the HTC U Ultra, else you can save a couple dollars and buy the Motorola Moto X (2014), giving up a couple features and specs.
