The Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro is much better than the Moto Z Play, getting an 84.2 score against 74.4. Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro's construction is way newer than Moto Z Play's, but it is somewhat thicker and a lot heavier. Both of these devices work with Android OS (operating system), but the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro has an older 14 version and Moto Z Play has Android 8.0 Oreo version.

The Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro counts with a sharper screen than Motorola Moto Z Play, because although it has a just a bit lower pixel count in each inch of display, it also counts with a bigger display and a quite better 1080 x 2400 resolution. The Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro has a superior storage capacity to install games and applications than Moto Z Play, because although it has no SD card slot, it also counts with 512 GB internal storage capacity.

Motorola Moto Z Play has a very superior hardware performance than Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro, although it has 13 GB lesser RAM, they both have the same number of cores.
