The Google Nexus 6P has an overall score of 80.3, which is a bit better than Moto Z Play's 74.4 score. Even being the best cellphone in our current comparison, we must tell that it's also an older, just a little heavier and just a little thicker cellphone. Google Nexus 6P features a bit more vivid screen than Motorola Moto Z Play, because it has a greater pixels count per display inch, a little bigger screen and a better resolution of 1440 x 2560px.
Moto Z Play features a much better storage capacity to store more apps and games than Google Nexus 6P, because although it has less internal storage, it also counts with a SD card slot that supports up to 1,95 TB. Google Nexus 6P's processing unit is just as good as Moto Z Play's processing unit, both of them have a Octa-Core processing unit and 3 GB of RAM memory.
The Google Nexus 6P shoots just a bit better photos and videos than Motorola Moto Z Play, although it has a camera in the back with a much worse resolution and a worse 3840x2160 video resolution, they both have a F2 aperture. The Google Nexus 6P and Motorola Moto Z Play count with extremely similar battery durations, although the Google Nexus 6P has 3450mAh of battery capacity.
Although Google Nexus 6P is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Moto Z Play, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as Moto Z Play. If you prefer to save some money, you can buy the Moto Z Play, and give up a few features and specs, but you will get the most with your savings.
