Galaxy A8 Star is much better than Moto Z Play, getting an 82.1 score against 74.4. The Galaxy A8 Star body is newer, but somewhat heavier and a little thicker than the Moto Z Play. These phones have Android OS (operating system), but Galaxy A8 Star has newer 9.0 Pie version and Moto Z Play has Android 8.0 Oreo.
Galaxy A8 Star has a little bit better hardware performance than Moto Z Play, and although they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the Galaxy A8 Star also has a larger amount of RAM.
