Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has an overall score of 79.3, which is slightly better than Motorola Moto Z Play's overall score of 74.4. Both of these devices include Android operating system, but Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has the older 5.1 version while Motorola Moto Z Play has Android 8.0 Oreo version. Although it's the best phone we are comparing here, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is an older, just a little bit heavier and just a bit thicker phone than the Motorola Moto Z Play.

The Motorola Moto Z Play counts with a bit superior CPU than Samsung Galaxy Note 5, because although it has a lower amount of RAM, it also counts with a higher number of cores. The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has a better looking screen than Moto Z Play, because it has a higher 2560 x 1440px resolution, a little bigger display and a greater pixels count in each screen inch.

Moto Z Play counts with a much bigger memory to install applications and games than Galaxy Note 5, because although it has only 32 GB internal storage, it also counts with a SD card slot that supports a maximum of 1,95 TB. Samsung Galaxy Note 5 takes a little bit better videos and photos than Motorola Moto Z Play, and although they both have the same (4K) video resolution, the same resolution camera in the back and the same 30 fps video frame rates, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 also has a larger diafragm aperture to capture better photos in low-light environments.

Motorola Moto Z Play has just a bit longer battery life than Galaxy Note 5, because it has a 3510mAh battery size.

Although Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Moto Z Play, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Moto Z Play. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, otherwise you can save some money and get the Moto Z Play, resigning some specifications.
