Comparison review

The Xperia XZ3 has a score of 79.6, which is slightly better than Moto Z Play's score of 74.4. Both of these phones include Android OS, but Xperia XZ3 has a newer 9.0 Pie version while Moto Z Play has Android 8.0 Oreo version, so it gives you some extra features and performance tweaks. Xperia XZ3's body is newer than Moto Z Play's, although it is heavier and a lot thicker.

The Xperia XZ3 counts with just a little better hardware performance than Moto Z Play, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia XZ3 also has a larger amount of RAM memory. Xperia XZ3 has a sharper screen than Motorola Moto Z Play, because it has a bit bigger screen, a lot better 1440 x 2880 resolution and a better pixel count in each display inch.

The Sony Xperia XZ3 has a little bit better camera than Moto Z Play, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the same 30 frames per second video frame rates and a same size diafragm aperture, the Sony Xperia XZ3 also has a back camera with a better 19 megapixels resolution.

The Moto Z Play features a bit more memory to store more apps and games than Sony Xperia XZ3, because although it has less internal memory capacity, it also counts with an external memory slot that allows a maximum of 1,95 TB. The Moto Z Play features a little better battery duration than Sony Xperia XZ3, because it has 3510mAh of battery capacity against 3330mAh.

Although Xperia XZ3 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Motorola Moto Z Play, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Motorola Moto Z Play. So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Xperia XZ3, otherwise you can save some dollars and buy the Motorola Moto Z Play, resigning some features and specs.
