The OnePlus 9 Pro is a bit better than OnePlus 8, with a 76.6 score against 76. The OnePlus 9 Pro is a newer phone than OnePlus 8, although it's a little bit thicker and just a bit heavier. OnePlus 8 counts with a bit more vivid screen than OnePlus 9 Pro, although it has a quite inferior amount of pixels per screen inch, a little bit smaller screen and a lot worse 1080 x 2400px resolution.
OnePlus 9 Pro and OnePlus 8 feature incredibly similar CPUs, both of them have a 8 GB RAM memory and 8 processing cores. OnePlus 9 Pro counts with just a bit better camera than OnePlus 8, and although they both have a F1.8 aperture and a same resolution back facing camera, the OnePlus 9 Pro also has a way larger sensor capturing much better quality photographs and a way better video quality.
The OnePlus 8's memory capacity for applications and games is very similar to OnePlus 9 Pro's one, both of them have exactly the same internal storage capacity. OnePlus 9 Pro features a little better battery duration than OnePlus 8, because it has a 5% larger battery capacity.
Although OnePlus 9 Pro is a better device, it is way more expensive than OnePlus 8, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as OnePlus 8. So if you want that extra specs and features, you can buy the OnePlus 9 Pro, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and buy the OnePlus 8, giving up a couple features and specifications.
