The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star is just a bit better than the Galaxy A12, with an 82.1 score against 80.3. Both of these phones include Android OS, but the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star has the newer 9.0 Pie version while Galaxy A12 has Android 10 version, so it provides you a lot of extra features. The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star construction is thinner and just a little bit lighter than the Galaxy A12, despite of the fact that it was released many years before.

Galaxy A8 Star features a slightly better looking display than Samsung Galaxy A12, because although it has a bit smaller display, it also counts with a lot better resolution of 1080 x 2220 pixels and a higher pixels count per inch in the display. The Galaxy A8 Star counts with a processing unit that is just as good as the processing unit in Samsung Galaxy A12, and although the Galaxy A8 Star has a higher amount of RAM memory, they both have 8 cores.

Galaxy A12 has a greater storage capacity for applications and games than Galaxy A8 Star, and although they both have the same 64 GB internal storage, the Galaxy A12 also has a SD memory slot that supports a maximum of 1 TB. Samsung Galaxy A12 counts with greater battery duration than Galaxy A8 Star, because it has a 35% greater battery size.

Galaxy A12 captures just a bit better videos and photos than Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a smaller aperture which is not recommended for capturing photos and videos in poorly lited situations, and they both have the same video frame rate and the same 1920x1080 video quality, the Galaxy A12 also counts with a back-facing camera with a much better resolution.
