The Galaxy A40 is a little bit better than the Galaxy A21, getting a 79.6 score against 76.1. Both phones in this review include Android OS, but the Galaxy A40 has the newer 11 version and Galaxy A21 has Android 10, providing the user lots of additional features. Although Galaxy A40 is older than the Galaxy A21, it's body is just a little thinner and a lot lighter.
The Samsung Galaxy A40 counts with a much better display than Samsung Galaxy A21, because although it has a little smaller display, it also counts with a lot better 1080 x 2340 resolution and way more pixels per inch of display. Galaxy A40 has more storage to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy A21, and although they both have a SD memory card expansion slot that holds a maximum of 512 GB, the Galaxy A40 also has 64 GB internal storage.
The Galaxy A21 features a bit better processing power than Samsung Galaxy A40, although it has 1 GB lesser RAM memory, they both have 8 CPU cores. Galaxy A40 shoots just a bit better photos and videos than Galaxy A21, and although they both have the same 1920x1080 video definition, the same 30 fps video frame rate and a 16 MP camera in the back, the Galaxy A40 also has a bigger back camera sensor which provides a higher photo and video quality and a larger aperture.
Samsung Galaxy A21 features longer battery life than Galaxy A40, because it has a 4000mAh battery size against 3100mAh.
