Comparison review

The Galaxy Note8 is just a bit better than the Galaxy A40, having an 83 score against 79.6. Both phones we compare here include Android operating system, but Galaxy Note8 has a newer 9.0 Pie version and Galaxy A40 has Android 11, offering a couple additional features. Although it's the best phone we are comparing, the Galaxy Note8 construction is older, a little thicker and extremely heavier than the Galaxy A40.

Galaxy Note8 counts with a little sharper display than Galaxy A40, because it has a just a little better pixels count in each inch of display, a quite bigger display and a better 1440 x 2960 pixels resolution. The Galaxy A40 has a little bit better memory for games and applications than Galaxy Note8, and although they both have equal internal memory, the Galaxy A40 also has a slot for external memory cards that admits a maximum of 512 GB.

The Samsung Galaxy Note8 counts with just a little better performance than Samsung Galaxy A40, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Samsung Galaxy Note8 also has more RAM. Samsung Galaxy Note8 counts with a bit better battery life than Galaxy A40, because it has a 6% more battery capacity.

The Samsung Galaxy Note8 shoots a little bit better videos and photos than Galaxy A40, because although it has a back facing camera with way less mega pixels resolution, and they both have a F1.7 diafragm aperture, the Samsung Galaxy Note8 also counts with a larger sensor providing a higher image quality and a lot higher (4K) video resolution.
