Comparison review
The Xperia 1 III has a general score of 93.3, which is much better than Galaxy A40's 79.6 global score. Xperia 1 III's design is notably newer, but noticeably heavier and a little bit thicker than the Galaxy A40. Both of these devices have the same Android 11 OS. Sony Xperia 1 III counts with a better looking screen than Galaxy A40, because it has a much better 1644 x 3840 resolution, more pixels per inch in the display and a little larger display.
Sony Xperia 1 III has a much bigger storage for apps and games than Samsung Galaxy A40, because it has an external memory slot that admits up to 1 TB and 256 GB internal memory. The Xperia 1 III features a bit better processor than Samsung Galaxy A40, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia 1 III also has 8 GB more RAM memory.
The Sony Xperia 1 III takes much better videos and photos than Galaxy A40, because although it has a lot worse 12 megapixels resolution back camera, and they both have a F1.7 diafragm aperture, the Sony Xperia 1 III also counts with a lot larger back-facing camera sensor taking more light and vivid colors and a lot higher 3840x2160 (4K) video quality.
Sony Xperia 1 III features a very superior battery life than Samsung Galaxy A40, because it has 4500mAh of battery capacity instead of 3100mAh.
