Samsung Galaxy A42 is a little bit better than the Asus ZenFone 8 Flip, with a overall score of 87 against 85.5. The Samsung Galaxy A42 is a somewhat lighter and somewhat thinner phone than the Asus ZenFone 8 Flip, even though both were released with only 6 months difference. These phones use the same Android 11 operating system, so both should count with all the same OS features.
Asus ZenFone 8 Flip has a bit more powerful processing unit than Galaxy A42, and although they both have a Octa-Core processor, the Asus ZenFone 8 Flip also has a greater amount of RAM. The Asus ZenFone 8 Flip features a much better looking display than Galaxy A42, because it has a greater amount of pixels per inch of screen, a quite larger screen and a way higher resolution of 1080 x 2400.
The Asus ZenFone 8 Flip features a greater storage for games and applications than Galaxy A42, and although they both have equal 128 GB internal memory capacity, the Asus ZenFone 8 Flip also has a slot for an external memory card that supports a maximum of 2 TB. Asus ZenFone 8 Flip's battery duration is just as good as the Samsung Galaxy A42 one.
The Asus ZenFone 8 Flip has a little bit better camera than Galaxy A42, and although they both have the same aperture, the Asus ZenFone 8 Flip also has a lot higher 7680x4320 video quality and a back camera with much more mega pixels.
