Comparison review
The Galaxy A42 is much better than the Google Pixel 3a XL, getting an 87 score against 78.9. These phones come with the same Android 11 OS, so you shouldn't notice any differences in that aspect. Galaxy A42's construction is newer, but a little thicker and somewhat heavier than Google Pixel 3a XL. The Galaxy A42 counts with a little better performance than Google Pixel 3a XL.
